Within our membership, smaller clubs and general gatherings meet throughout the year. We have the four “B’s,” in books, bowling, bridge, and bunko, among our smaller social clubs. There are also paper crafting and culinary clubs that meet regularly, with other clubs forming as interest grows. Larger general membership meetings usually occur on the third Thursday of the month, hosted by various spouse organizations throughout the base. Additionally, our affiliation with local Japanese counterparts allows us inimitable intercultural experiences!
Charitably speaking, our area of giving encompasses the local community, both inside and outside the gate. To this end, our members donate their time and expertise to our two main fundraising activities. The Misawa Thrift Shop and our annual Far East Bazaar are activities that involve and give back to the Misawa AB population simultaneously. The proceeds from these endeavors then fund our welfare, scholarships, and tuition assistance programs.
