The Thrift Store is run by the Misawa Officers' Spouses' Club (MOSC) with the help of a small staff and community volunteers. Profits generated by the Thrift Store help fund our scholarship programs and our charitable donations to Misawa schools, private organizations and other base activities.
Thrift Shop Programs
E-4 & Below PCS Program-
All E-4 and below military personnel and their families (regardless of branch) are eligible to receive $50 of free merchandise within the first 90 days of their arrival to Misawa Air Base. The account is terminated once either the entire $50 has been spent or their 90 day period has ended. Individuals must have ID and copy of orders on hand. |
E-4 & Below Monthly Program-
All E-4 and below military personnel and their families (regardless of branch) are eligible to receive $25 of free merchandise at the Thrift Shop per month. This account refreshes each month (money does not roll over) and is only terminated once the individual has moved from Misawa. Must have ID on hand. |
Military Uniform Program-
All active duty military personnel (regardless of RANK and branch) are eligible to receive 12 uniform items within their branch for free every month. Only active duty members are able to obtain these items (no dependents) as an active-duty ID is required at time of purchase. |

Donations

We welcome donations during business hours! We appreciate: clothes, books, household items, linens, movies, music, etc.
Please make sure items are clean, free of stains (even ones that would wash out), and in working order.
All items that are in good condition that we cannot use at our store are donated to the Morioka Orphanage.
